Prime Pet Care Pty. Ltd. (ABN 69 056 930 931) trading as Dog Society (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through dogsociety.au, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access, correct or complain about it.
The personal information we collect
When you sign up to our newsletter. Our signup form asks for your first name and your email address. Both are things you choose to give us.
Automatically, when you visit the site. Like most websites, ours records technical information sent by your browser. This includes your IP address, your browser type and version, your device and operating system, the pages you look at, and the date and time of your visit. Some of this can identify you indirectly, so we treat it as personal information.
We do not collect sensitive information, and we do not ask for payment details. You cannot buy from this website. Our products are sold through supermarkets.
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you fill in our newsletter form. We collect technical information automatically through our web server, our security software, our analytics provider, and cookies, which are small files stored on your device.
Why we collect it and what we do with it
- To send you our newsletter, if you have asked for it. We use your first name to address the email to you.
- To keep the website secure, by detecting and blocking malicious traffic and login attempts.
- To keep the website working, including caching pages so they load quickly.
- To understand how people find and use our site, and to measure how well our advertising works.
- To improve our products and communications.
We will not sell your personal information.

Our site also loads fonts from Google, and sits behind a security and performance service. Both receive your IP address as a normal part of delivering the page.
How to turn tracking off. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers also offer a “do not track” setting. Blocking cookies will not stop you using this website. You can also opt out of personalised advertising in your TikTok account settings. For Google Analytics, you can install Google’s opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Direct marketing
If you have subscribed to our newsletter, we will send you emails about our products, news and promotions. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and you can use it at any time. You can also email us at contact@dogsociety.au and ask to be removed. We will action it promptly.
We use a double opt-in process, which means after you sign up we send you a confirmation email and only add you to our list once you confirm. If you never confirm, we do not send you marketing.
Who we share your information with, and where they are
We share personal information with service providers who help us run the website and our email marketing.
Our website and its database are hosted in Sydney, Australia, so the information you give us through our signup form is stored in Australia.
Some of our other providers are located overseas, which means your personal information may be accessed from or stored on servers outside Australia.

We may also disclose personal information where we are required to by law.
Before disclosing personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that the recipient will handle it consistently with Australian privacy law.
How we hold and protect your information
Newsletter signups are stored both in our website’s database and in our email marketing platform. We protect this information with access controls, security software and encrypted connections.
No system is completely secure. If we no longer need your personal information, and we are not required to keep it by law, we will destroy it or remove anything that identifies you.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Email contact@dogsociety.au and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify who you are first. There is no charge for asking, though we may charge a reasonable fee for the cost of giving you access in some cases. If we refuse, we will tell you why in writing.
Making a complaint
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please tell us first. Email contact@dogsociety.au or write to us at PO Box 561, Sunshine VIC 3020, and set out what happened.
We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it, and write back to you with the outcome, normally within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au, by calling 1300 363 992, or by writing to GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 2001.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed.
